’t Kleihuys is two officers’ houses from 1860, restored and joined into one. Sophie is an architect who became a ceramicist, and she made most of what you’ll put your hands on here: the porcelain lamps, the washbasins, the plates on the table.
You book a room, not the house. The living room, the long table and the garden you share with whoever else is staying. That is what makes it a guesthouse rather than a hotel.
The street is residential and stays that way. Saint Anna is where people in Bruges actually live, and the Market Square is ten minutes on foot, which feels further than it is.
